Group mentoring approaches seem to support Black male youth’s social emotional development through group processes (e.g., unity, brotherhood, trust). Mentoring that promotes Black boys’ racial identity may in turn facilitate positive effects in other aspects of their lives (e.g., academic outcomes).

Mentoring the 100 Way is one of the signature programs of 100 Black Men of America. Our mentors are trained to holistically address the social, emotional, and cultural needs of youth in grades 6–12. Our Community Mentoring Programme (CMP) is a ‘life–skills’ group mentoring programme targeted at the Black community and for the benefit of both children and parents/carers.
